I'm fond of acrostic names for VFX pipeline tools. Given how much shit we have to deal with due to inter-department conflict, I want to write an communication tool called "FIBER" Frequent Inter-department Bickering Endangers Renders

The things that pass for April Fool's Jokes in the VFX industry are like: - We're getting a union! - Autodesk acquires Blender - animBot discontinues support for Maya, says animators have become over reliant on it - 3D Equalizer releases proper docs for its SDK - stereo is back, baby! - work life balance is now the number one priority at all major studios

I'm going to be livid if the air conditioner I bought on 2024 only lasted two seasons. Can't afford the thousands of dollars for a heat pump that lasts for ten to twenty years? Too bad! Spend a thousand every year or two on a disposable AC! That's capitalism, baby!

    Yep... that one broke containment

And here I was thinking that Scholl's to Patton to Vista would be a nice short cut to downtown #Portland. Shorter than Zoo, Terwilliger, or the I-5 pedestrian bridge. One problem... Patton to Vista is a 4% grade for two miles, no bike lanes, no shoulder 😞 #pdx #bikeTooter

If I had a nickel for every time a Shot broke because modeling made a breaking model change and animation didn't re-export their cache... I'd have so. many. nickels.

I tried a new route from #Beaverton to downtown #Portland for my ride to the Trek Two Bridges ride today. Scholl's to Patton to Vista/23rd to Raleigh. Patton would have been nice if there had been bike lanes, but it's only 25 mph and the drivers were polite. Still wouldn't recommend it without an ebike or thick thighs. Once you reach Vista it's all downhill. Wouldn't want to take the reverse route, though. #bikeTooter #pdx

Between me and my ebike I'm moving over 300 pounds of mass when I'm riding. I wonder how much different it would be if I weighed what I did in college and had a lightweight city bike...

Two years ago, dissatisfied with the low quality of commercially available bike wheel lights, I set out to make my own. Several kilograms of filament and several meters of LED strips later, I had a solution that worked. Bright, eye catching wheel lights that I only had to charge once a week. I shared the DIY plans on Instructibles, but AFAIK, nobody has made their own. So I've set up shop to make them for you. https://rideatnight.com/ Ride brightly, my friends. #bikeTooter
