Now I don’t usually charge my car up to 100%, generally leaving it at 80% for battery longevity. And the interesting thing is that regen doesn’t work at all at 100% and I think not as well at even 95% or lower. So if in more “optimal for regen” conditions, it will likely be even better pro-rata.

@bloor@bloor.tw I’ve not thought about not charging up all the way for optimal regen. As it’s leased I just whack 100% in every time, not worrying about battery life! Not sure I can get stats out about region amounts - will take a look at the app.

@bloor@bloor.tw There were stories of early EVs in San Francisco (a notoriously hilly city) being driven with early 1 pedal mode and then been taken home to house on the top of a hill. Charged to 100% and then just not stopping for the red lights at the cross roads at the bottom of the hill

@bloor@bloor.tw My ID.3 starts turning down the regen at about 85-90% I think (depends on battery temp), but it does still regen at 100%. Presumably it is charging up the top-buffer of the battery, and I guess it has to stop eventually but I've not had the opportunity to charge at the top of a very big hill and then regen all the way down. :) Interestingly I did 95 miles on 38% of the battery on Sunday, whereas the same journey in the winter would be over 50%, necessitating a charge before coming home.
