@gavi@bagel.ing Hanalei is a zebra lady and she's literally a rock star. She has a magenta stripe! In Azuaveria, the land where she comes from, zebras aren't ever born with fancy colors -- just black and white like you'd expect. So her magenta stripe is a body modification, like a head-to-toe tattoo. Bodily autonomy is badass, yo. She's an aspirational figure: always 1 step ahead of me. More accomplished, more assertive, and all that. Being able to dress up as her every once in a while is always a highly affirming experience.

@gavi@bagel.ing Mine is basically a self-insert, but an anthro red fox. All the art for it has been done by two artist friendos so far. ^.^ Gosh, I'd love to have a big floofy tail I could swish around on demand. :neofox_aww:

@gavi@bagel.ing A bit of a way to interact with more confidence online and explore gender, sexuality, and kink. Not any sort of backstory, just a mix of me and who I might want to be. Ada, a mix of rosy maple moth and monarch. (It was always going to have wings, and bugs are cute). They are gender ambiguous, though when drawing clothes they are more likely to wear a dress or skirt, and probably overall lean a little more fem. I feel like I've sketched them tied up more than not, so I guess they like kink. I imagine there is a world they are a plush too. No mouth and giant solid eyes make it hard to interact with the world. They always feels a little different, not quite fitting in or knowing how to interact.

@gavi@bagel.ing I never really settled on a fursona largely because i sadly dont have furries in my closer friend circle and most of my interaction with the fandom is one-sided. I do have 1 piece of art of an anthro virginia opossum interpretation but its quite old. Want to eventually get into digital art to be able to draw for myself.
