🕊11 years after her death, we remember Sandra Bland, and recommit ourselves to the fight for justice and for an entirely new system, free of racist police brutality! Bland was a Black Lives Matter activist and vocal advocate against injustice. In July 2015, Bland was pulled over by a Texas state trooper for failing to signal a lane change. She was taken into custody at Waller County Jail, and three days after her arrest, was supposedly found hanging in her cell.

Authorities ruled Bland’s death a suicide, but activists and Bland’s family dispute this ruling and the suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. Sandra Bland, like countless other Black women murdered at the hands of the carceral state, has long been denied justice. We will continue to fight against racism and police brutality for Sandra and all victims of the criminal "justice" system! SAY HER NAME!

@majorlinux@toot.majorshouse.com its so fucked up that the lynchings never fully stopped i remember back in 2008 when i thought people in america were finally gonna move forward because obama, holy shit was i naive, it seems even worse today than 11 years ago or 18 years ago I know why it is, but its still amazing to me that people accept this and believe it can be reshaped into something resembling justice
