Hey lazyweb: Does anyone know a good introductory thing in how quantum computers (such as they exist today) work? I DO NOT need how they might someday break some encryption, I’m looking more for “what does system administration look like?” #help #quantum

  • @TindrasGrove@infosec.exchange My suspicion here is that system administration of a quantum computer ends up being similar to that of a GPU. They're more likely to be treated as specialized hardware components within a conventional general purpose computer accessed via specialized libraries than as computers themselves.

  • @TindrasGrove@infosec.exchange I might, or I might not. (Sorry)

@TindrasGrove@infosec.exchange I’d start with https://www.ibm.com/quantum/products. I think they have cloud-based tools you can start to explore.

@TindrasGrove@infosec.exchange Very very very basic. They are specialised experimental hardware. Anyone who claims otherwise right now is trying to sell you snake oil.
