Enjoy the panoramic Bay views (yes, that's the Golden Gate Bridge to the right) as you ponder which of these apparently long-disused M-Bs you'd want to revive from their driveway slumber—wagon or coupe? #WeirdCarMastodon

Apparently in this neighborhood, if you own one Mercedes, it's de rigueur to own at least two. We passed one house with matched W210 E320 sedans in the driveway—why two of the same car?—and one with another immobile SEC coupe, abandoned with its front wheels removed in the middle of some long ago project, next to an R107 SL under a cover. Other cars lurking under covers included a street-parked late model Corvair convertible and a Porsche 356 (!) in a front yard (!!). #WeirdCarMastodon

@autonerdery@weird.autos I'm partial to old German station wagons, especially lost cause ones. The Mercedes wagon needs some love. Not long after we moved to Vallejo, we took a drive along Grizzly Peak Blvd., exploring those neighborhoods above Berkeley, omg just one stunning bay view after another! Have you ever gone over to Alameda and driven around the older cottage-y neighborhoods? There's some amazing carspotting there.

@autonerdery@weird.autos Never owned one myself, but like many others, I've always wanted to. My aunt had a root beer brown '80 or '81 300D wagon and it has never left my mind, even 40 years later.
