The work I do doesn&#39;t demand that I write code by hand, or that I use an LLM for anything that it doesn&#39;t make sense for it to be used for.

Personally, I think as with all things, the future will be a watered down (or more balanced if you want to be positive) version of the AI maximalist future that's being promoted. Yes, it'll be pervasive. Yes, it'll be transformative. It already is.

@tonyarnold@mastodon.social I don't want to sound cynical but I don't think there is much correlation between people I respect and people who are ultimately proven right about the future. To me this is mostly an exercise in triangulating where AI is in this moment, where people are in relation, and what that implies for where this technology is going. It's not just finding people who make good predictions — it's never been more important to listen to people who have good principles *and* adaptive mindsets.
