Personally, I think as with all things, the future will be a watered down (or more balanced if you want to be positive) version of the AI maximalist future that's being promoted.
Yes, it'll be pervasive. Yes, it'll be transformative. It already is.

What it won't be is used for everything. IMO Joe's right that it's going to be a "sometimes" thing — an example: we don't reach for higher level abstractions like Storyboards or XIBs nearly at all anymore because they were less effective than writing code. LLM-driven development practices will also ultimately be refined — but also reduced — by continued practical use. There will be things they're amazing for, and things they're not good at at all. And yes, they'll improve.
