@MatWright@mastodon.social I sent 2 kids in my math class to the nurse this morning. Both tested positive on a rapid test within a couple of minutes. One parent said she knew her kid had COVID but sent him to school anyway because "he didn't act sick". 🤬 So now the rest of my math class, me, & their homeroom teacher & homeroom class all have to test daily for these next few days.

@Nshrubs@mstdn.social this is insane public health idiocy, knowing the consequences - and the mitigations are so cheap and effective beyond Covid

@Nshrubs@mstdn.social @MatWright@mastodon.social Wow, I am actually very impressed with these protocols!!! In my kid's school, the nurse will NOT test for covid. They suggest you "consider" testing for covid yourself if covid is suspected (no tests provided, must buy your own) and kids and teachers are advised to go to school if "no fever and symptoms are improving", regardless of test results!! If they test positive, masking for 5 days is "strongly encouraged" but not mandatory and no one enforces it anyway. 😠
