@marz@caw.corbode.com I'll be installing Mint soon for the first time, and I've been using Ubuntu for a couple decades. Princess Grace says Mint is a little more accessible to the user who prefers low maintenance systems than Debian, plus it's going to be more familiar to Ubuntu users: https://perfect.hypnovir.us/secret/linux-tips

@marz@caw.corbode.com depending on your reasons for leaving ubuntu, mint may not be the right answer for you, since it does depend on some ubuntu packages. There is also the Linux Mint Debian Edition that uses debian packages instead of ubuntu. Either way, I'd suggest a Mint over a Debian for someone who wants to minimize fiddling. Debian is great, but Mint is less fiddly.

@marz@caw.corbode.com I have been using Mint and Mint Debian Edition for about 15-16 years, now, and i see no reason not to stick with them, except for that I run Raspberry Pi OS on my Raspberry Pis (also Debian based). Typing this right now on a 2012 MacBook Pro running Linux Mint Debian Edition 7 on my kitchen table, the other PCs in the house run Linux Mint Cinnamon.
