Figuring out which actors @petrosophia knows is always a journey. Ria: "Oh so Matthew Broderick was in it." Me: "Yeah! And you know what he was in." Ria: "He was in War Games." Me: "I mean yeah but what a deep cut. He was also in Ferris Bueller." Ria: "Never seen it."

ππ Happy Birthday @petrosophia ππ Just want to take this as an opportunity to publicly gush about her a little. She's a fantastic qpp - when I've been sick this last year she's researched my condition/symptoms, scheduled appointments and often driven or accompanied me, cooked most nights, and been a great emotional support. She's also hilarious, always quick with a pun or word play. She's fought tooth and nail to treat her NPD. She's a great d...

I've had a lot of dental/jaw/sinus pain today and on Biscuits evening walk we popped over and said hi to my dad so I asked him about whether her thought it might be a tooth infection and he just laughed and was like "It's TMJ, you need to go get a bite guard before they become migraines." Apparently, several people in our family have it - I'm not surprised, I'm pretty convinced several folks have EDS as well. So yeah. Add that to the dental t...

it's been days and I'm still thinking about this conversation (about our birdfeeder set up) @petrosophia: Marz said grab the biggest bag of peanuts they had and that's what I did my dad: Woah, those are expensive @petrosophia: we don't have streaming

So I would like to move from Ubuntu. I'm not a tech person and prefer low maintenance stuff that works pretty well without much fiddling, though I do live with a techy person who can help me. I mostly use my laptop for word processing, a little bit of graphic design work, playing Stardew Valley specifically, and YouTube. I've gotten used to using KDE Plasma so being able use that would be nice but not a deal breaker. After poking around I'm considering Mint and Deb...

Wrote a little bit about wanting to add some folks to my Metta/Prayer list for May https://hillbillyoracle.tumblr.com/post/816144445458268160/may-mettaprayer-list Essentially, I'd love to have a few more people for my Metta (usually translated as loving-kindness) practice for May. It helps me have more people to practice with and you know there's someone wishing you well through the month. If you're interested in being added, feel free to DM me with a name and if th...

So last night we had 5 rounds of severe storms blow through. The first almost certainly had straight line wind 50+ mph - we have healthy branches from our backyard hurled all the way into our front yard. Our whole yard is covered in mostly brand new maple leaves that got sheered off. We lost power at 8pm last night. Got it back on around 5-6am this morning. Then it was off again 5-6pm this evening - right as Ria went to Kroger. So overall, we're okay if a little shaken.

Bird nerd moment: Heard a Chuck-will's-widow calling out behind our house tonight! I recorded several clips of it - I was really amazed! We're at the exact northern edge of it's range and with the storms that blew through last night I wonder if it got pushed farther north than it normally goes. Wish I could have seen it but damn - what a treat!

it's been a mixed bag of a day. Woke up into stress/hormonal IBS poops which were uncomfortable. I've been in a real low and self critical mood today, had poor meditation. But I also got to see a bird on my feeder that I've never seen up close like that before and heard another that's very rare here. And I begrudgingly started booted up Google Fit on my phone to use as a pedometer again and got some the best movement days I've had in a while. Seems t...

RE: https://caw.corbode.com/@marz/116479017229115629 This was fascinating and aligns with my experience. My deepest meditations have been reclining while fully supporting my joints and it's made me wonder what I'd get out of a group/retreat setting where the ideal or mandate is cross legged or kneeling. So at the very least, thank you for making me feel less weird about what works for me y'all.

I'm not saying there's any basis for it but I do feel a bit of a kinship with people from Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts since we're from Commonwealths technically rather than States.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that 90% of what people attribute about "screens" is actually just social media. I have never once felt bad about the time I spend on Merlin Bird ID.

had a minor Catamenial Anaphylaxis episode again this morning (mostly GI symptoms but fuck I was so itchy the whole time) and I'm still feeling pretty off from it BUT I am going to *try* to make a Derby Pie today. @petrosophia was kind enough to go pick up some items I forgot and when she gets back I'm gonna give it a go. Got a membership to our local wildlife place on their opening day. It was a great time! Thanks to @petrosophia for suggesting we go. The box turtles apparently had just come up that day and were very sleepy. Seeing them nap right next to food cause they were just that sleepy still was a treat. Also we were informed the eagle has anxiety. Big mood. #yallmasking #stillcoviding #wildlife #eagle #turtle

Just putting out some feelers - I'm considering trying to put together a Death Cafe for folks who are disabled, especially those are semi or totally housebound and might not be able to get to one otherwise. Is there any interest in this? It would be on Zoom, either on a Sunday afternoon or a weekday evening (EDT/UTC-4). For more on what a Death Cafe is, check here: https://deathcafe.com/what/ Feel free to boost! #disability #deathcare #stillcoviding
