@marz@caw.corbode.com depending on your reasons for leaving ubuntu, mint may not be the right answer for you, since it does depend on some ubuntu packages. There is also the Linux Mint Debian Edition that uses debian packages instead of ubuntu.
Either way, I'd suggest a Mint over a Debian for someone who wants to minimize fiddling. Debian is great, but Mint is less fiddly.

@cryptica@wireframe.icosahedron.network The main reason I want to move out of Ubuntu is the jump in RAM needed. Second reason is how they've handed some stuff around AI. I'm not the most knowledgeable to have a nuanced opinion but it doesn't seem like they're moving in a direction I want to be a part of. After getting a little feedback I'm considering Mint Debian Edition as well.
