@poutsma@mastodon.social Such a fundamental misunderstanding... Corporations are about profit and increasing value to shareholders. If you think that "values" or "morality" is important to companies then you will be sorely disappointed. Same will Pride, rainbows and green initiatives - this is just PR.

@poutsma@mastodon.social I was a fan of Apple as well. Loved their designs, especially in the 2000's. I'm so deeply disgusted with Tim's actions of late. To change this behavior, they need to get hit hard in their wallet. Maybe targeting their stocks would be a start.

@poutsma@mastodon.social Thank you. I needed this nudge to write my own letter. I am so disappointed in Tim and Apple, too.

@poutsma@mastodon.social I can't afford to dump my current devices. But I decided (last year, after the crowning of King Donald the First) that I will buy something else next time. Not just Apple, all American brands will have to go. No more USA, the experiment failed.

@poutsma@mastodon.social I think about this a lot too, but I also wonder if it was always a sham ( like so many things )

@poutsma@mastodon.social Obligatory note that any sense of rebelliousness a brand exhibits is a marketing tactic to apply when you are behind whoever the market leader is. You know, like when Christina Aguilera decided to be Xtina for a bit.
