@ElleGray@mstdn.social AI is "The means to a Cognitive Dictatorship" (Borrowed the phrase from Charles Stross "Glasshouse") AI is trained on knowing what you write, what your beliefs are, who you talk to, where you spend your money, who your friends & family are, where your kids go to school, where you're employed, your medical records, & your debts. It's spyware & state surveillance rolled into one, to burn fossil fuel at an atrocious rate while being subsidized by electricity utility customers.

@ElleGray@mstdn.social I never even use them 'AI's. I simply call em LLMs. Because they ARE not intelligent beings, they are gigantic generative language models, re-trained & perfected to repond in a human-like fashion.
