I am not from Twitter, and I don't like the culture that arose from that site.I do understand the lure of the shitpost, but I don't think it does anything good for anyone.I like philosophy, although I am wrong about everything (from your perspective). I believe that people who like logic don't tend to understand logic.I believe there are bullets that must be bitten, but not at any cost.I am opposed to fascism, and believe there are natural limits to all freedoms, also of speech.

Anyone know of an old web application that generates/translates heraldic descriptions? You know, the points sable on gules code language? I just came to think of it, and thought I bet someone made a tool for that back in the cool old days where the internet wasn't buried in shit... #heraldry

Is there a tool that reasonably compares photos (which may not have identical names, and may or may not actually be identical) and sorts out the duplicates by quality? I have about a Tb of unsorted family photos straight from digital cameras, and I need to back them up, but I also need to conserve disk space, because of the fucking oligarchs. Gentle reminder: Whenever someone is trying to sell you a story about welfare fraud, they're actually just trying to make it harder for deserving applicants to get the help they need. Stories about welfare fraud are 100% about making it hard for people to get help. Measures to combat fraud all amount to making the walls higher. There is absolutely zero effort made to check whether it reduces valid applications, and also zero effort made to check whether it reduces fraudulent applications....

People seriously think the accusation against Substack is "There are nazis there", and not "Substack is actively courting and promoting Nazis, because Substack management want to provide Nazis in particular with a platform". Most likely, the only reason Substack accept non-Nazis as content providers is to diversify their reader base so they can expose more people to Nazi viewpoints.
