People seriously think the accusation against Substack is "There are nazis there", and not "Substack is actively courting and promoting Nazis, because Substack management want to provide Nazis in particular with a platform". Most likely, the only reason Substack accept non-Nazis as content providers is to diversify their reader base so they can expose more people to Nazi viewpoints. Just like twitter, they should be a nazi-only site. But nincompoops keep thinking such platforms are territory to fight for, not a sinking ship to light on fire and abandon. #subtoot

@androcat @mastodonmigration I'm sure non Nazi voices also helps them play the "free speech" card, just like Musk. So folks on Substack are directly helping that bit of PR.

@androcat they also managed to convince a lot of writers that they are the simplest path to revenue. Which has to factor in to how we approach people we want to get onto something else.

@androcat The only thing to fight for is something you have a stake in governing. You never know when a company that fought for inclusion before it was cool will one day have a CEO fluffing a fascist Dear Leader whose administration hates rainbows.

Lizette603_23@mastodon.social (removed the @ because this self-styled antifa-fan blocked me after posting her substack-stanning declaration of suspicion. Needless to say, you can't be a friend of antifa if you can be suborned to the agenda of literal nazis) You can look it up for yourself Just a random search will give you plenty of examples. e.g.: https://www.theverge.com/24040685/substack-newsletters-nazi-content-moderation-policy
