@delta@chaos.social We've been praising #delta for splitting UX from transport protocol, e.g. chat UX on mail's SMTP. Next step is to add different transports. Theory works. In relation to game theory, there are two issues that we will always have: installation, and operation. Alternative transport is for operation in environment that does wake a mole with one's transport. Installation into ... golden cage? Do you have access to that supposed super hacking model? :)

@delta I'm not surprised. Actually, I'm surprised DC was ever in the Chinese App Store. As a matter of fact the reason I sold all my Apple devices and moved to FOSS was because they sold-out their principles to get into China for the cash. So, for the right price they'll sell YOU out too. But there are lots of 'resourceful' Chinese so DC will get around eventually. @delta@chaos.social China does this for every messaging app that attempts to shield user communications from prying eye. In Chinese app stores you can't find Signal, Element, Wire, or any other secure messaging app, either. They even blocked access to F-Droid.

@delta No wonder. I live in China and have been using DC for several years. Since last week messages can't be sent. But on iOS and Android can receive messages. On Android I also tried arcane chat. It sends and receives well. If only some relays are blocked. How can we find the DC relays we can use? Because iPhone is my daily carry.

@delta@chaos.social I discovered that DeepSeek has began censoring Delta Chat, as it will refuse to answer if my prompt contains the string 'Delta Chat'. However it does not censor its response if it contains 'Delta Chat'. I wonder why.

@delta@chaos.social it's almost impossible to block completely, if you add enough relays. If you're using it on a #linux machine you're fine. If however, you live in C... and you're using a phone you bought there... You can't really trust your phone. (Not that you can trust any phone sold anywhere) Linux PC's are the last bastion in the fight for privacy. #Microsoft and #Apple have no problem sharing all your info with govs. Also, the relays they block depends on the region you're in and what provider.
