proprietary software should be considered malware because the motivations for developing it as such are inherently malicious even trust issues aside, typically its to create lock-in to maintain an iron grip on the userbase for capitalistic gain or some other entirely selfish cause never is it not an utter disservice to society to withhold source code from users
