I wonder if there&#39;s some well-maintained LaTeX package you can import that has \hyphenation commands for lots of widely (and not-so-widely) used computer science terms? This question brought to you by &quot;of-fload&quot; and &quot;stan-dalone&quot;.

So apparently https://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/language/hyph-utf8 is the authoritative place where these hyphenation patterns live? ...and apparently there's a pattern for f4l2 which prevents hyphenation for offload as off-load or offl-oad? :oh_no_bubble:

@lindsey My friend Fload has the same problem but kind of in reverse. Also, such a package would be super helpful.

@lindsey one of my pet peeves in papers is where the authors present a tool, whose name consists of an adjoined sequence of initial-letter-capitalized words, which is then consistently split within a part of the first word, in between the last two letters *before* the next capital letter (where it makes similarly no sense whatsoever) rather than splitting it at the nicely evident capital/word boundary

@lindsey although i don't think it was hyphenated incorrectly a book i was reading had "disc- over" in it and my brain could not put that word back together to save my life. i finally had to write it down unhyphenated to "discover" what the author was trying to say.

@lindsey @brainwane Apparently US English hyphenation and British hyphenation rules differ. You may find setting Babel to GB English helps.
