@rootcompute@mastodon.social reminds me when a client asked us to remaster a game and Autodesk only offered the latest 3 versions to subscribers, despite us needing a 5 year old version for which we had bought multiple seats in the past

@rootcompute@mastodon.social I've gone one further and claimed all software should be forced open source after an initial profiteering period, the way patents work for inventions, and that period should end after 5 years of not actively selling the software no matter how long its supposed to be. #floss #software #saasSucks
