@Cat_LeFey@pagan.plus Our neighborhood has a creek that winds through it. It’s underground mostly so you don’t see it much but it’s channeled on two of the streets and ducks like to hang out there. Found out that there’s a cave system underneath all that which is so cool! Wish I knew more about the cave. I think about it every time I go for a walk.

@Cat_LeFey@pagan.plus I _think_ if I draw a line from my apartment to the closest shoreline, it hits right about where the East River flows into Upper New York Bay. (I don't notice "bay" as an option, which would also be useful for where I'm sitting right now in San Francisco...) It sucks when instances limit poll options to only 4!

@Cat_LeFey@pagan.plus Great Salt Lake is probably the closest natural one. There is also a canal that has some natural reeds and things, but I don't think it was originally put there by nature.

@Cat_LeFey@pagan.plus a pool in the forest, with frogs, snakes, the occasional kingfisher. Quite a magical place, just a 5 min walk away. A bit further away but still very close the river IJssel.

@Cat_LeFey@pagan.plus I live in a valley with three springs along the hillside above my house, one more spring on the hillside opposite, a marsh at the open end of the valley, then a river that becomes an estuary and flows into the sea, all within a mile of me.

@Cat_LeFey@pagan.plus My back garden is bordered by a brook, with a 12 to 15 feet steep bank down to the water, with trees. If it rains, the brook can rise to a deadly torrent very quickly. There are steps down to the water, but I exit swiftly at the first sign of rain. From high ground I can see the Severn estuary. It's said Sabrina, spirit of the Severn, always exacts her annual tithe of blood... My local river has two names. One translates as "Grey River" the older name means "Stone Breaker".
