So, heads up, I'm seeing this post announcing palantirwatch.org being boosted a lot: https://indieweb.social/@perlman/116487195727382898 However, the site seems to be vibe coded and, while I've just picked stuff at random, most claims are lacking sources and/or just plain wrong. I think it is all generated by an LLM. - For example, the "Court Dossier" page mentions a 2019 case "Kik v. Palantir", about a "former partner" suing them for stealing fraud-detection tech. But a far as I can tell, there was no such case. - The op-eds listed on the "Media & Narrative" page don't exist. E.g., Alex Karp never wrote an op-ed for The Atlantic. - The few links given are incredibly generic (e.g., linking to a Bloomberg search result for "Alex Karp" rather than an actual story) or incorrect (like the Palantir page on OpenSecrets.org, which should be https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/palantir-technologies/summary?id=D000055177, and the figures don't match the website's). - None of the quotes on the "Karp File" page seem to be real. The creator's other sites appear to be LLM slop as well. edit: I pretty much never ask for boosts, but the original post currently has hundreds and hundreds of boosts. Please help fight AI slop and get the word out? :boost_ok:

@nev This, this is good. I don’t recall a company ever being founded and organized for the sole purpose of conducting malignant business practices. From the ground up, this is an evil monopoly. It didn’t evolve that way, it was designed to be a predator.

@slotos @dbrand666 @nev A client of mine recently had a Sev that nobody could figure out. My first question was, has anyone checked for an ai push to prod? Sure enough, someone had overwritten the staff engineers code, and pushed. I just shrugged and said, well…it’s not my architecture, and not my monkeys. I can’t help you. This is out of scope for my contract. Would you like me to scope how to fix what I told you not to do? (I didn’t say it like that, but it is absolutely what I meant.)

@nev Appreciate you doing all that work. We need transparency from developers when they create these things. I'd really love to know how many are fully aware of the inaccuracies that are baked into vibe coding.
