  You know when I wake up in the morning I keep touching my face even though I know that I'll feel stubble there and feeling that will make me feel like shit because dysphoria but I keep doing it for the same unknowable reason that people poke at a sore tooth (like there's no revelation or answer I don't know why I do it I just know I've probably do it for similar reasons)

  Right I've just signed up for a power company for the first time and as always with many types of online forms I am mildly paranoid that it didn't actually go through because of all of the ad blocking and stuff I've got because I didn't get a confirmation email immediately but with something like a power company it might not actually do it automatically it might just flag it for the attention of a human in which case a delay is normal

  Weird fact about me I am fine with being called a slut but I don't like being called a whore for the incredibly weird (and probably autistic) reason that it is generally technically inaccurate I personally do not accept money for or pay for sex (even if I have no problem with others doing so) words mean something and I don't like being called the wrong word

  Ok I decided to play #KSP for the first time in a while and decided to play science mode finally got to do a mission that passed close to the mun and it technically succeeded (if I had any mods for life support it would have failed though) basically I didn't quite have enough Delta v to complete the burn to do my planned Aero break however the orbit I managed to get into is still unstable it's just going to take several hours of real time to actually land (and months of in game time)

  You know when bluesky goes down it basically brings down the entirety of AT Protocol however if mastodon.social goes down while it would effect a significant chunk of activity pub users they would still be a significant chunk of the network posting about the biggest server on the network being down. This is due to big world (AT Protocol) vs small world federation (activity pub) 1/?

  Ok I finally got my main NAS drive converted to #Btrfs and after doing some of the initial setup things mostly running a defreg and balance I decided to run the bees duplicator and ye gods in only about five hours it's managed to free up almost 100GB of space and the ETA for actually finishing a full crawl is about a day and a half more in the end I may end up with almost a 1TB of free space compared to only about 500 GB when I was on ext4 #linux #Self_hosting

  @damnyouwillis.bsky.social yours came out better than my first 2 attempts. These are attempts 1, 3, 4 (attempt 2 was a bed adhesion failure about 20 minutes into the print there wasn't much to see so it went straight in the trash) The 1, 2 and 3 were printed in 69.23% scale instead of the default 4 is 100%

  Ok snap packages are great and all but they should really have an option for an alternative that actually works I just spent two hours trying to debug something with steam and some modding tools and I've determined that my best option is to install arch (or something derived from it) or to go fuck myself because those tools absolutely won't work if steam is in a snap package (or flatpack) and installing steam any other way on Ubuntu is completely borked

  @cstross@wandering.shop like the Neo is currently on the top of my potential new laptops list (my current laptop basically hasn't been a laptop for years the hinges are currently held together with bulldog clips and the battery only lasts about an hour and a half) but even if I do manage to scrape together the money for it (I'm on a more or less fixed income so that's no mean feet) I'll still probably keep using my old laptop as a quasi desktop machine
