1. you fight with a plugin for half an hour. 2. You ask your wife to help you fight with a plugin for 15 more minutes. 3. It doesn't work. 4. You go onto the manufacturer's website and *attempt* to submit a support ticket. 5. You faff around with the site because there are a few unclear/unlabelled edit fields on the site that don't seem to make sense. 6. You spend another 10-15 minutes typing out a long detailed explanation, having made a video explaining it because you just *know* someone will be asking you for a screenshot anyway. 7. You're met with two inaccessible checkboxes for agreeing to terms and conditions, and that your email will be stored... You cannot submit the ticket for love nor money. 8. you leave the site in utter disgust, remember you had some previous chat with the devs in an email chain going back years, find that and send the issue that way instead. 9. You hope that email address still works because at this point, it's all you have. 10. You come on Mastodon and vent to the world because you just need to let it out somewhere. Now, you're done. Motivation and inspiration has long gone and you just don't want it anymore.

@FreakyFwoof Awwww poor friend you're having a day similar to mine I read. Sending a hug because it's all I've got and i'm desperate to somehow brighten or redeem the day for someone even if it isn't myself.

@FreakyFwoof That better be a very kick ass plug-in. And this is why I have never been comfortable making music inside of any DAW.

@FreakyFwoof I know it's of little comfort right now and it's definitely not a cure all, but I'm finding that AI can sometimes come to the rescue in these situations. If you need to check an inaccessible checkbox, etc, Gemini in Chrome works surprisingly well for that sort of thing.

@FreakyFwoof I'm really feeling a lot of that needlessly exhausting discouragement lately, and hackable/open things like the Ableton move are the best cure I've found. Hope you do get an email back though, because that's atrotious. I'm curious where that contact page is; I wonder if I could figure out a workaround.

@FreakyFwoof Great summary Happened to me so many times, and it usually does when you feel creative and you just want to move on and make music. As you say, by the time you're done, you're done! :) .

@FreakyFwoof this is my experience making music, except for the reporting it steps. This is predomenantly the reason why I keep buying and testing samplers for usability all the time, I'd quite like to move away from software
