1. you fight with a plugin for half an hour. 2. You ask your wife to help you fight with a plugin for 15 more minutes. 3. It doesn't work. 4. You go onto the manufacturer's website and *attempt* to submit a support ticket. 5. You faff around with the site because there are a few unclear/unlabelled edit fields on the site that don't seem to make sense. 6. You spend another 10-15 minutes typing out a long detailed explanation, having made a video explaining it because you j...

My friend Nils has made a build of Jamulus that can send/receive uncompressed audio. Gotta try that. There's a server under genre: Jazz called 'RAWAUDIO-TEST-' which can be used to test it. https://github.com/dingodoppelt/jamulus/actions/runs/24625695436 CC @chikim

Last night Alice decided she was cooking dinner entirely on her own, so she did butter chicken with rice and naan bread. Suffice to say, Jake and I practically inhaled it and there was definitely nothing left on plates afterward. She did great!

With the help of Codex I built a small accessible web remote for Sky Q called Sky Scout. I wanted something simpler than the usual app-heavy options: browser-based, screen-reader friendly, easy to run locally, and able to discover Sky Q boxes on the network instead of being hardwired to one setup. It can browse boxes, jump straight to channels, and read back live status on main Sky Q boxes. If I want to watch TV, the remote isn't always somewhere I can find it, so this is an option I can...

This page hosts a growing collection of authentic sounds recorded during NASA’s Artemis campaign as humanity returns to the Moon. All audio files are free to download and cleared for use in accordance with NASA’s media usage guidelines. This library will be updated regularly as new mission audio becomes available. https://www.nasa.gov/artemisaudio/

I downloaded one of the NASA moon photos because I wanted to see what kind of description I could get my Mac to generate, so have attached the photo, and alt-text is pasted below, as it was too big to fit in the space provided. Alt-text courtesy of qwen3.5:35b, running locally on an M1 Max MacBook Pro via #Ollama. This is a striking space photograph, likely taken by an astronaut in lunar orbit. Here is a detailed description: **The Foreground: The Moon** Dominating the bottom two-thirds of th...

@dansup@mastodon.social totally here for it. So many videos I come across as a blind person are non-spoken, or just music over the top. No clue what's going on.

I found a rather fun chord/clav/EP sound from Arturia MiniBrute ironically called 'Louis' EP' that inspired me to write this game-like thing this afternoon. Very silly, very 80's, high-energy madness. Also quite short.

Sometimes I like to noodle while reading a book, so I turn to my left and start playing but without hitting record. I happened to have a piano sound under my fingers at that time, so I just started doodling and this was the result. Logic has a mode whereby, even if you weren't recording when you started, you can capture what you played anyway because it stores it in a buffer.

I've been blatantly stolen from. Thanks to being alerted by @simon who found this 'One Fine Doob remix' by someone called 'Sean Gonzalez' who failed to give proper attribution and is selling *my* track on #BandCamp. If you know me, you'll know I'm quite fine with people using my stuff in just about anything, but to take it without attribution is a step too far. I'd very likely have said yes, but this has pissed me off greatly. I wro...

Gianluca, @Leowyatt88 has made a very easy-to-use, accessible stem separation tool for windows. One uses CPU, another uses GPU so simply download the version you need. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/jnicbs8cjc8orukpe8vhv/AA2n8ya1sWTvldMvyslOk_0?rlkey=au1g8jwx30xub8n9b5uks8gv5&dl=0
