  OH look. We (America) are on track to try permanent Daylight Saving Time again. It's happened before. It didn't last long. I expect more of the same if it happens. This time, though, we have states that can opt out, which is just going to cause a confusing mess. I can't wait. Bring on the chaos, it isn't like we don't have enough of it. Right?

  This is a bit of a longshot, but figured I'd ask here anyway. About twenty years ago, I got a Digital Juice sound effects library on either 9 or 10 DVD's. They had multiple volumes, and I'm not sure which this was. The filenames are all something like 01234_sfx.wav rather than something easily searchable.   I want to take all the keycaps off of this keyboard, and replace everything that isn't control, alt, windows, space, backslash, shift keys and enter with W keycaps, then give this keyboard to someone who relies on looking at the keyboard for accurate typing. Why W? Why not? I could just as easily move the keycaps around randomly, but I think just having a bunch of W's would be more fun.

  I almost knocked a 40 something inch television off it's crappy stand/table thing. Fortunately, I caught it before it landed face-first on the floor and cracked. It's lite enough that I was able to grab it with one hand.

  I've had T-Mobile 5g home internet for almost a month. In that time, I've discovered that the primary use for the T-Life app is to advertise T-Mobile Tuesday deals. IT also incidentally lets you pay your bill, control aspects of your device, etc. but it is mostly just another ad campaign conduit.

  It seems that, after running Tweesecake for Mac OS for a little while, all the buffers on just one session eventually are filled with silent items. New ones that show up generally do stuff. I've tried clearing the buffers, deleting the databases, etc. It keeps happening. Anyone else seeing this behavior? @app

  Probably a weird question, but, ehhh, oh well. Does anyone know, in the year 2026, where one can get 90 or 120 minute cassette takes without the non-magnetic leader? I suppose I can just take existing ones apart and cut the leader off myself, very carefully, but I'm not so good at cassette splicing these days. Why do I not want a leader?   With Trump threatening to use nukes on Iran, and the Artemis II mission in progress, I am reminded of a short story I read as a kid, possibly a Ray Bradberry, (can't remember) in which two astronauts come back from the moon in the year 2000, only to find that all life on earth is about to end due to a chain reaction involving a hydrogen bomb.   I just got my T-Mobile 5g home internet gateway thing set up. So far, I'm seeing download speeds around 550 Mb/sec, uploads around 28.5 Mb/sec. I've seen better from T-Mobile in this area, but I also don't know what the signal strength is. I think the front panel display on the gateway shows that as a graphic. My T-Mobile phone only gets 1, sometimes 2 bars, so this is probably not full strength. I'm just amused that, right now, I have about three times the downl...

  I remember a lot of completely useless and totally irrelevant things. For example, the c: partition on my first Windows machine had 63,989 clusters. IP address assigned to me by my ISP in the summer of 2003 for a couple of weeks was 24.88.102.48. There are 36 divots on the PTT button for one of my ham radio microphones. if only I could redirect that part of my brain to do something useful other than retaining stuff like that, maybe I would be better off.

  When I was a kid, I was convinced that multiple simultaneous natural events could not occur at the same time. For example, if there was a thunderstorm in an area experiencing an earthquake, the thunder, wind and rain would pause for the duration of the quake, then resume when it was over, doing the same for aftershocks.
