Probably a weird question, but, ehhh, oh well.
Does anyone know, in the year 2026, where one can get 90 or 120 minute cassette takes without the non-magnetic leader?
I suppose I can just take existing ones apart and cut the leader off myself, very carefully, but I'm not so good at cassette splicing these days.
Why do I not want a leader? Well, I'm recording at quarter speed using an Omnicron VLR-4CT. With the leader in place, I would miss something like 20 seconds if pressing record at the start of the tape, and would miss a further 20 or so seconds at the end of the tape.
Yes, I'm aware of the problems that are associated with this, mostly that there is no way to record over the stuff on the very beginning of the tape, and it ends up stacking. This will get worse the slower the tape speed gets. That's what magnets are for, I guess.
