Any quick tips for a minor anxiety attack when out and about and you can't separate from the group but you also have to mask like you're relatively fine? Could really use some tips right now. I'll be fine, but I'm very uncomfortable.

Thank you for the help, y'all. I'm doing a lot better right now.

@revoluciana@chaosfem.tw remember that in (probably less than) 15 minutes it will have passed. it's a psycho-physical process (like the bubbling in the guts that eventually produces a fart), nothing to catastrophize about. hth :)

  • @revoluciana@chaosfem.tw @timberwraith@mastodon.social Ground yourself in the moment and breathe. What are: 5 things you can see? 4 things you can touch? 3 things you can hear? 2 things you can smell? 1 deep breath Or focus just on your breathing. Breathe in slowly for 3 seconds. Hold your breath for 3 seconds. Breathe out for 3 seconds. Repeat. You are fine and will get through this. Wishing you all the best.

  • @revoluciana@chaosfem.tw I started to de-focus my awareness from the group in the same way that one might in, say, a crowded dance club or a crowded public event. (I don't know how many people do this in crowded places, though? It's automatic for me.) Although, that tends to result in a sense of disengagement and boredom for me but I stopped feeling anxious?
