@nickyttrpg when Mamdani campaigned, billionaires threatened to leave NY city. That gave more momentum to his campaign. The more he triggers the billionaires, the more popular he gets. And I am all for this. 🍿

@nickyttrpg The Brooklyn building I lived in for 21 years was sold and I was evicted with 30 days notice. That was scary. Taxing the rich who do regularly this to people is not scary for anyone with less money than Linda has.

@nickyttrpg the rich won't leave. Billionaires can already live where-ever they care. They are not all in Pakistan where cost of living is low. They live where they most like to. Tax them more, the city improves, and the desirability notches up. The other thing it does, is make their properties more exclusive. High end properties are veblen goods - if only the richliest of the richies can afford the taxes, then the ultimate display of wealth is to own such taxed properties.
