@geistesgift@mastodon.social I might be following you around, consulting a species chart of mycorrhizal pairings and pulling little vials of damp sawdust out of my spawn library. Don't deny those saplings access to the Dirtnet--they'll get bored and lonely.

@geistesgift@mastodon.social the terms Universal and Basic are REALLY problematic in terms of massively derailing discussions immediately out of the gate. I feel very strongly that Guaranteed Minimum Income avoids a lot of confusion. https://bookshop.org/p/books/the-guarantee-inside-the-fight-for-america-s-next-economy-natalie-foster/f7d48a3b05497514

@geistesgift@mastodon.social I am writing code slowly instead of mashing five academic disciplines together and doing weird research based on it. And I'm kind of annoyed about it.

@geistesgift@mastodon.social It's been a very long-standing situation here. We have people who need work done. We have people who want to do the work. We don't have liquidity and currency in the places where those should be meeting to get things done.

@geistesgift@mastodon.social wait, you’d plant female trees? Are you sure that’s allowed? Currently cities plant only male trees triggering pollen allergies because dealing with wildly sprouting trees is unthinkable.

@geistesgift@mastodon.social The flip side of this is the guy my mom hired to fix up her utility room, and some recent notable others, possibly in Minneapolis. This guy sat for four days trying to figure out how to put the plumbing back together, while just going to the unit next door, or taking a pic ahead of time would have given him the layout. He was desperate for work, and in way over his head. But that's where they want us. Desperate.

@geistesgift@mastodon.social Well technically all of this is also archivable without the help of the government. Is this really that much different from e.g. religious groupings and monastery and all?
