We have the numbers vote & getinvolved voteblue. Urban vs. Rural: Densely populated urban centers and major suburbs are highly diverse and tend to vote for Democrats. Less-populated, rural, and exurban areas tend to be more traditionalist and reliably vote Republican. Trump is losing. The US is losing. And the world is losing. We just had another week of Trump TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out). He threatens Iran, they bomb some allies, US bases or boats passing through the Straits, and Trump backs down. Trump promised no endless wars (and a whole bunch of American morons believed him). Now, we're in an endless war. If you are not progressive left — which is the only way we save this country — I don’t want to hear from you anymore. I will vote progressively or not at all. It is not up for debate or discussion. I will not support pedophile Nazis or their sympathizers or collaborators. Unity is not more important than accountability and change. Unity without accountability is just a hostage situation. We’ve spent decades watching conservatives move the goalposts and moderates tell us to be grateful for the new, worse 'normal.' Stop calling it a compromise when the only thing being sacrificed is progress. I’m voting for systemic change, not for a seat on a bus that only travels right. I’m done accepting 'unity' as a substitute for change. The current cycle is predictable and toxic: conservatives break the system, and moderates ask us to 'compromise' by accepting the damage as the new baseline. True compromise requires a move toward progress, not just a slower crawl toward the right. I refuse to fall in line with a system that demands my silence while it protects the very people who should be held accountable. Trump promised peace, lower prices, lower taxes to get elected and protect himself. He hasn't delivered, and now Republicans continue to shield the president and other child predators from justice and ramifications. This can all change in less than 100 days if you vote for Democrats in November. Taking away as many of their government seats as we can. Showing them there is a cost for what they’ve been doing. Sending a clear message that the American people disapprove of them. It’s worth working towards, worth striving for. Don’t be idle.

Therefore, voting for a Democrat, even if they aren't left-leaning, creates a more left-leaning legislature. Voting in primaries is how you pick your candidate, once at the general, vote Democratic, regardless of issues you may have with that candidate. We can resolve those over time at the next election. An excellent essay by @pluralistic@mamot.fr , as always. And it underscores an important point for #USPolitics : " #VoteBlue ", in itself, is not a useful strategy for stopping fadcism in the USA. Because it won't do much if those elected Democrats are not afraid of the wrath of the voters each and every time they give in to Trump and the other oligarchs. If they are not afraid of the voters, a lot of them will just do what they have kept on doing - as their voters for donations while selling out democracy and civil rights to their corporate donors.
