#Typhoon #Bavi (Philippine name #Inday, Japanese Typhoon Number 9) is located 361 km west-southwest of Kadena Air Base, and has tracked north-northwestward at 24 km/h (13 knots) over the past 6 hours. Maximum significant wave height is 14.6 meters (48 feet).
The mean track is generally northwestward under the steering influence of the subtropical ridge to the northeast.

From 1995-2025, 147 tropical cyclones came within 300 km of Taiwan, triggering sea warnings, land warnings, or making landfall.
On average, 4.9 affect Taiwan each year and 1.7 make landfall. About 73% occur between July and September.

KILLER TYPHOON STRIKES!
🚨 Super Typhoon Bavi, one of the strongest storms on Earth this year, has slammed the Northern Mariana Islands.
The Category 5 storm struck Rota with sustained winds of 180 mph (290 km/h), gusts up to 215 mph (346 km/h), and 12–20 inches (30–51 cm) of rain.
Guam, Saipan, and Tinian are also experiencing destructive winds, flash flooding, and storm surge as emergency crews assess major damage.
