I just realized that, if your main coding PC has a document scanner and OCR software, like a cheap flatbed and Tesseract for example, then you could, at least in theory, use a manual #typewriter in your favorite hideaway as the ultimate distraction-free code authoring tool. If your typewriter doesn't have a delete key, then take along a typewriter eraser and a writing correction tape.

That poor little distressed tab holding my left margin in place snapped off, despite my attempts to be gentle (it had been bent completely over, so it was bound to happen). Today’s thrift store find: an antique Bennett portable typewriter! Like many modern ultraportable laptops, they had to make some compromises in the key layout to fit in such a small space. This isn’t necessarily a typewriter for touch typists. #antique #typewriter
