Una ragazzina di 13 anni sabato mattina è stata individuata dopo un furto davanti alla Fontana di Trevi. Un portafogli appena rubato e uno zaino con alcuni passaporti di un gruppo di turisti turchi sono stati recuperati dalla polizia locale. La poliziotta, che notato il gesto ha poi inseguito la ragazzina di origini bosniache che, costretta a fermarsi, ha dovuto consegnare la refurtiva. La tredicenne, che era in compagnia con l’auto di un’altra ragazzina, è stata riaffidata al padre in quanto minorenne dopo la segnalazione al Tribunale per i minorenni. Gli agenti hanno rintracciato i tre turisti derubati e hanno riconsegnato loro i documenti, necessari per il viaggio di ritorno.
Nelle strade della Capitale, solo nel fine settimana scorso, gli arresti per furti con destrezza e borseggi sono stati tanti e dal primo luglio più di 30 solo a Roma. Le aree maggiormente colpite sono la stazione di Termini e le zone più frequentate dai turisti, come il Colosseo. Già lo scorso febbraio, quando il numero delle rapine in strada era vertiginosamente aumentato, i carabinieri della Compagnia Roma Centro avevano notato delle coincidenze tra le testimonianze delle persone derubate. Nelle denunce sporte dalle vittime si ripeteva sempre lo stesso racconto anche se in questi casi si tratta di rapine: “Almeno due uomini, di origini straniere, si avvicinavano con un pretesto e poi o con l’uso di piccoli coltelli o con spray urticanti costringevano le vittime a consegnare gli oggetti d’oro che indossavano”.
La Procura di Roma ha emesso due ordinanze a carico di sei persone per colpi consumati fra l’area del Colosseo e Largo Argentina. Nelle rapine che interessano principalmente i turisti, anche i social hanno un ruolo centrale. TikTok verrebbe usato per pubblicizzare la merce rubata, ma anche per accrescere la competitività fra bande diverse, secondo quanto riportato dal Messaggero. Le operazioni delle forze dell’ordine, volte a sventare il sempre maggiore numero di rapine, hanno portato a dei risultati: se nei primi giorni di luglio ogni notte si contavano fra le due e le tre rapine, ora lo stesso numero si spalma nel corso di una settimana.

A thirteen-year-old girl was identified on Saturday morning after a theft in front of the Trevi Fountain. A recently stolen wallet and a backpack containing some passports belonging to a group of Turkish tourists were recovered by local police. The female officer, having witnessed the act, pursued the teenage girl of Bosnian origins who, forced to stop, had to hand over the stolen goods. The thirteen-year-old, traveling with the car of another girl, was entrusted to her father as a minor following a report to the Juvenile Court. Officers traced the three robbed tourists and returned their documents, necessary for their return journey.
In the streets of the Capital, just last weekend, arrests for skillful thefts and pickpocketing have been numerous, and since July 1st there have been more than 30 alone in Rome. The most affected areas are Termini Station and tourist-frequented zones such as the Colosseum. Last February, when the number of street robberies had increased sharply, the Roma Centro Company’s Carabinieri noticed coincidences between the testimonies of the robbed victims. In the complaints filed by the victims, the same story was repeated, even in these cases involving robberies: “At least two men, of foreign origins, approached with a pretext and then, using small knives or stinging sprays, forced the victims to hand over the gold objects they were wearing.”
The Rome Prosecutor’s Office issued two orders against six individuals for offenses committed in the Colosseum area and Largo Argentina. In the robberies that primarily affect tourists, social media also play a central role. TikTok is allegedly used to advertise stolen goods, but also to increase competitiveness between different gangs, according to reports from Il Messaggero. Operations by law enforcement agencies, aimed at thwarting the increasing number of robberies, have yielded results: if in the first days of July there were between two and three robberies each night, now the same number is spread out over a week.
