What a fabulous fleet of tall and semi-tall ships that gathered in Boston on Saturday and is now scattering around the globe! Here are two sisterships, Germany's Gorch Fock and Portugal's Sagres. More pix: https://ericbender.co/safe-harbor #sailing #tallships #maritime #Boston

The second-coolest thing about the Tara is the ship’s history. Built after World War II when Poland got its coastline back. Sailed by Polish marine researchers trying to rebuild their war-ravaged museums and collections. An 18m ship on an 8,000 sea-mile voyage. Salvaged from the bottom of a harbour in 1976 by a doctor who tried, but failed, to sail his family away from Iron Curtain Poland to freedom in Australia. Now a Danish boat sailing in the Tall Ships Race. #TallShips

The first-coolest thing about the Tara is that the crew made it do a twirl as a way to take a bow for the happy crowds waving them off as the Tall Ships parade sailed out of Aarhus harbour. I wish I could convey to you how happy this joyful moment made everyone. Cheers and waving and laughing, the crew and the crowds alike. A perfect doughnut. Amazing crew. #TallShips #Aarhus
