Mir ist nochwas aufgefallen in den letzten Tagen zum Thema HIFI. Ich hab ein paar Leute befragt was sie von einem Talk zu dem Thema halten, Inhalt und Umfang usw. 90% der Leute meinten irgendeinen Kommentar zu esotherischen Produkten (vergoldete Netzwerkkabel etc) machen zu müssen, bevor sie auf das Thema eingegangen sind. Warum? Dieser Bereich ist nicht der einzige, in dem es Bullshitprodukte gibt. Es antwortet zum Beispiel keiner zu meiner Aussage "Ich muss mir mal ein paar ordentliche Outdoorklamotten zulegen" mit "Wusstest du, dass es Haute Couture für 50000€ pro Kleid gibt und das ist weder haltbar, noch dass es schön aussieht". Oder zu: "Ich recherchiere gerade zu einem neuen Rucksack" mit "Es gibt 10000€ Handtaschen, die in China für 20€ Kosten produziert werden und da passt nicht mal ordentlich was rein". Nochmal: Warum? Was passiert da im Kopf wenn dieses Thema mit solchen Bullshitprodukten assoziiert wird? Ich finde das gerade extrem spannend. #hifi #stereotypes

Lately, I've been getting pretty tired of seeing people from different countries put down Koreans' looks with the stereotype that "Koreans all get plastic surgery," while claiming that people from their own country are naturally better-looking. Putting aside the fact that assuming every attractive Korean has had surgery is a stereotype, plastic surgery is a personal choice. Having it doesn't automatically mean someone is insecure about their appearance, nor does it give anyone a reason to shame them. I also don't understand why Korean beauty standards themselves—looking youthful, having lighter skin, etc.—need to be shamed. People say "everyone is beautiful in their own way," yet somehow Korean standards of beauty are treated as something that shouldn't even be accepted. It's especially frustrating when Koreans haven't done anything to these people, yet suddenly you see crowds of them showing up just to tear Koreans down. #Korean #Beauty #Stereotypes #plasticsurgery #CulturalDifferences #MediaLiteracy
