#standwithqueerpeople

The perpetrator of the attack on Berlin Pride has been shot by the police. For many, that seems to close the case. It doesn't. We want answers. We want to know why this happened, how it happened, whether it could have been prevented, and whether anyone else was involved. We want this investigated thoroughly, not quietly filed away and forgotten. And we refuse to let our pain become a weapon against innocent people. We will not allow an attack on our community to be used to target other marginalised communities. Nor will we accept conservatives, the far right, or fascists suddenly pretending to stand with us. They have spent years fuelling hostility towards queer people. They hate us too. They are not our allies. Justice means truth, accountability, and protecting everyone from hatred, not simply choosing a different group to hate. #Berlin #BerlinPride #Pride #LGBTQIA #Queer #StandWithQueerPeople #AgainstHate #NoToFascism #Solidarity #HumanRights

I am home and safe. Not everyone else is. One person is dead. At least 16 others were injured. A peaceful and happy night was brought to an abrupt, violent end. This is what happens when relentless hate and constant dehumanisation spill over into violence. A car becomes a weapon. A knife comes into play. People who were simply celebrating Pride become victims. Whether through words, intimidation, or outright attacks, queer people are reminded again and again that public spaces are not equally safe for us. That is a reality we cannot afford to ignore. And this is exactly why we need Pride. As visibility. As solidarity. As defiance. As a promise that we will not disappear. 🏳️‍🌈✊ #Pride #LGBTQIA #Berlin #StandWithQueerPeople #NoHate #WeWillNotBeSilent
