Ok, last of the night before I go to my SACD collection. #NowPlaying Etta James ‘Tell Mama’ This is the recent 180g Atlantic 75 pressing, and whoooooooo boy, it’s lovely. Her voice is so intensely compelling. It’s a mono, but it does that depth thing that good mono recordings have. All the instruments are clear, and have space around them. Note, I’m playing it via a stereo cart, out two speakers, so not eeking out the full potential. #RealMusicByRealMusicians #EttaJames

#NowPlaying Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Live at The Ritz 1981 Considering the source, this is a pretty great version. I’ve had this on shitty bootleg cassette for forever. The energy of the band is GREAT! Joan fucking RULES. It’s funny though to hear her voice so young and girlish. Her modern recordings are in a much lower register. Damn this is such a great concert. I officially have WAY too many copies of INXS’ Kick. This is the new Rhino High Fidelity limited edition all analogue recording. 3916/5000, although note the sleeve number and the order of pressing probably have no correlation. Unfortunately, I can’t listen to it this evening, but tomorrow should be good :-) #vinyl #RealMusicByRealMusicians #INXS

Now Playing… The expanded edition of the Batman soundtrack. The original album had a different ordering and different (very extended versions) of some songs. It also included "Dance with the Devil" which was cut from the film (and the shipping soundtrack). #Prince #RealMusicByRealMusicians #Batman

Moar Music from a band that was new to me. Turns out, Rock n' Roll ain't dead… The band is great. Not tooooooo sure about the singer's voice. The video is fucking me up, as it's modern, but they look straight out of 1978. Modern Americans aren't that skinny anymore.
