Una "carenza diffusa", segnala il Centro nazionale sangue (Cns), sul territorio nazionale che però riguarda in particolare il gruppo 0 positivo. Le criticità maggiori si registrano nel Lazio, in Campania e Sicilia, ma non ci sono al momento Regioni con unità di sangue in eccedenza tali da permettere la compensazione interregionale". Un allarme importante che arriva dopo l'estate, un periodo già difficile per la raccolta e quest'anno ancora più in salita per il caldo record. Il Cns ha sollecitato le strutture regionali, le federazioni e le associazioni di donatori a incrementare le donazioni e a potenziare la chiamata. L'Adnkronos è voluta scendere in campo organizzando per giovedì 10 settembre (dalle 8.30) una raccolta di sangue straordinaria aperta a tutti i cittadini, in collaborazione con Avis Roma, a piazza Mastai nel cuore di Trastevere . Perché manca in particolare il gruppo 0 positivo? E' il gruppo sanguigno più diffuso nella popolazione e proprio per questo è quello più cercato dagli ospedali. Se non c'è una riserva accumulata prima dell'estate e adeguata alle richieste si può andare in sofferenza come sta accadendo in queste settimane. Infatti, secondo i dati del Cns sul monitoraggio dei globuli rossi: a luglio 2026 le unità prodotte sono state 194.775 (-1,1% rispetto a luglio 2025; le unità di globuli rossi trasfuse sono state 194.002 (-2,6% rispetto al 2025). I gruppi sanguigni nel sistema AB0 sono quattro: Gruppo A, ha l'antigene A sulla superficie dei globuli rossi e anticorpi anti-B nel plasma; Gruppo B, ha l'antigene B sulla superficie dei globuli rossi e anticorpi anti-A nel plasma; Gruppo AB, ha sia gli antigeni A che B sulla superficie dei globuli rossi e nessun anticorpo anti-A o anti-B nel plasma.
