"Within that broader launch, the one substantive new policy announcement was a proposed one-year moratorium on new AI data centre consents." #HenryOliver, 2026 https://thespinoff.co.nz/the-bulletin/27-07-2026/a-green-party-for-all-of-us The Greens like to present themselves as radicals, but this is incrementalism writ large. To those of us closely following the disasterclasses of the #MOLE Training industry, this policy is about as ambitious as a 1 year moratorium on fossil fuel exploration, Or open field trials of GM. To be fair, the Opportunity party policy on this is even worse. They're totally drinking the kool-aid, and planning to give free public money to the #MOLE Training and DataFarming industries; "... we will introduce a new tax credit scheme. It will allow claiming back as a tax/credit up to 25% of the cost of rolling/out high-tech solutions such as AI and digital platforms." https://cdn.opportunity.org.nz/documents/policy/breakthrough-economy-policy-overview.pdf This is the kind of corporate welfare Labour regularly disappoints me with. #Opportunity (2/?)

Very unfortunate that he'd name it the same thing

Well, slopmongers aren't famous for doing due diligence ; ) I presume your project - unlike theirs - doesn't involve any code vomited up by a Trained #MOLE?

Quick sketch in Chavant. I'll sculpt the finals in polymer clay and they're never gonna be as good, there will be tears... tale as old as time 😅 #sculpture #ratty #mole

(2/2) My point is, unless a server project provides a repeatable methods for generating a reliably useful model, running it locally isn't substantially better to running it remotely via an API. The main difference is that the person running the server pays for the compute it uses, instead of the supplier of the model. That seems worse to me, not better. #AI #MOLE

@verita84@detroitriotcity.com

you can run llms for chat, music and image generation

I have many questions. But for now, I want to focus on the technical details of how this works. For example, where does the Trained #MOLE it uses come from? Can it be generated from available source code/ weights/ data, under libre licenses?

(1/?) Great quote @tchambers@indieweb.social. I look forward to TBL coming to similar conclusions about the #MOLE Training con. Still drinking the kool-aid last I checked.

Learn why Oaxacan mole is the soul of Mexican cuisine and why it matters. I've included a simple leftover-turkey mole that captures centuries of tradition in every bite. #foodculture #foodculturebites #Culture #foodhistory #IndigenousFood #mexicancuisine #oaxacanmole #mole https://foodculturebites.com/oaxacan-mole-the-joy-of-tradition/ #FoodIdentity
