Today in Labor History August 4, 1964: Civil rights workers Michael Schwerner, Andrew Goodman and James Chaney were found dead in Mississippi after disappearing on June 21. They were activists with the Congress of Racial Equality promoting voting registration among African Americans. Seven Klu Klux Klan members, including Deputy Sheriff Price, were convicted. #workingclass #LaborHistory #racism #kkk #KuKluxKlan #CivilRights #core #mississippi #murder

@ablueview@mastodon.social The #KuKluxKlan was started by one of the Confederate Army’s most feared leaders, General Nathan Bedford Forrest from #Tennessee. He recruited mostly battle-tested veterans of the #CivilWar. It became something else, but retained that #history. #PatriotFront is masked #ChadsAndChuds in khakis and polos. #Incels don’t intimidate anybody - except their reflection in a mirror! #Resist #WhiteSupremacists in #USpol and #American society.
