#Whale #stranded on #Sydney beach 3 days ago to be tested for #BirdFlu. A #newborn #humpback whale carcass will be tested for H5N1 bird flu as a precaution. A member of the public had reported the stranded whale on #GreenHillsBeach in Cronulla about 6.30am on Friday by calling the Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia (ORRCA) hotline. A mostly white #humpback #whale #calf has been spotted swimming off the coast of #CabaritaBeach & about 100 kilometres north at #Minjerribah on #StradbrokeIsland the following day. #HumpbackWhale #freed from #fishing #gear on #NSW Central Coast. Rescue group #ORRCA responded to 5 separate #entanglement incidents along the #NSW coast over the weekend.
