This ad played in the pub where we were having lunch. “Good campaign,” said their CEO, “but it doesn’t have any legs.” Anyway, they were dipshits and it was a bullet dodged, and here we are more than 25 years later still playing this ad. Almost makes me wish I liked beer. Almost. #HappyCanadaDay

It was a hot one ("7 inches from the mid-day sun", as the song goes) but the #EastYork #CanadaDay #Parade went off well. Tons of people lined the streets in a sea of red and white. The Park event is still going on. Even at 37C/98.6F people were out all afternoon watching the shows from the bandstand. Food trucks and vendors are making cash today! Lots of hand-held fans are in use. #HappyCanadaDay !!!!

John A. MacDonald was extremely anti-Semitic, and his Indian Act policy that led to concentration camps for Indigenous people, and deaths camps called "residential school", where the RCMP abducted Indigenous children under threat of starvation if the parents wouldn't send them, inspired Hitler to do what he did in Europe. the unmarked graves of the children who died in MacDonald's death camps are still being found today. more than 2,500 graves have been found *so far*. William Lyon Mackenzie King, our 10th prime minister, thought Hitler was "a good patriot" and turned away thousands of Jewish refugees fleeing anti-Semitic terror in Europe.
