@feyter@mastodon.gamedev.place I completely agree that muting normal words like this isn't ideal, unfortunately, that needs to be blamed on the game itself that uses that hashtag. It's not something we on the Fediverse came up.
Rare? Far from rare. These posts are made by thousands every day, just like Wordle and Heardle and all of those. I personally choose what I want to see in my feed or what I don't want to see in my feed, and muting #Collections is one of the things I have to do to keep my timeline cleansed of the bullshit, for lack of better words.
I also didn't suggest #MastodonCollections since again, you are right, it's a bit long. #MastoCollections or even #FediCollections would be good.
On the opposite side of what you are saying about not muting common words, there's going to be tons of people that don't want to see these collections in their feed, and the simple solution would be to........guess what, mute the hashtag #Collections if that's what was used. So it's a total catch-22, as you might see.
