Dog's Diary - August 10, 2026 It has been nearly a week since father has taken me on the longest pee break ever. While I do enjoy owning trees in multiple states, he insists on treating me like an animal and forcing me to live off of this swill. It seems no matter how lovingly I look at him or how good my sit is, he refuses to give me filet mignon. I'd even suffer through some pulled pork. But no. I must subsist on wet dog food. It is clear that father no longer loves me. My only option now is a hunger strike. Maybe once I've starved to death, he will realize the damage he's done. My dog, #MeraxesTheMenacing has a very particular sound. It's not his "I've been injured" bark. It's not his "there's a threat three miles away" bark. It's not his "the cat is getting into trouble" bark. It's very specifically a whine. The best translation is some variation of "I didn't get my way", "no one loves me", "my life is terrible", and "I might die from not getting what I want". Anyway, someone got a b-a-t-h and is whining at me to undo it. #Daschshund #DogsOfMastodon
