RE: https://social.vivaldi.net/@TheVoidTLMB/117010613680308866 It's worth remembering that the ECB could have poured money into the existing domestic T20 tournament (turning it into a IPL/Big Bash/CPL), maybe relaxing the rules on overseas players, and could have supported #CountyCricket instead of creating a brand new format that nobody else plays (in the hope that they could sell that format worldwide). The Hundred takes domestic players away from their counties during the domestic 50-over tournament (a format that *is* played internationally) and the teams (which don't have strong local support as they're a hodge podge of players which changes every year) have now been sold to businesses so that any profits that are made are going mostly offshore and definitely not back to the counties who actually produce future England cricketers. And they wonder why the national team can't successfully play even 50 over games, let alone Test matches #cricket
