@SmartmanApps@dotnet.social alright ‘smartman’, if there is only one standard for order of operations then why is it that when I put ‘3÷2(6)’ into my #Casio fx-100AU PLUS the answer is ‘0.25’, but when I put the same exact string into my Google Pixel's calculator app the answer is ‘9’? I suppose you'd say my #android is wrong, right? Maybe so, but then you can't deny that the confusion is pervasive. If 72.77% (https://www.sci-tech-today.com/stats/android-phones-statistics/) of mobile phones will tell you the wrong answer in their default app, are we simply to ignore it? Well, again, maybe so. That's the way you would have it, isn't it? If they're wrong they're not worth listening to. But when I write a mathematical expression, I want it to be that no matter who copies it down into whatever calculator, that they all get the same result. To me that would be ideal. And to achieve that, I will use as many brackets as necessary (or I will simply use fraction notation if I can). As for brackets being new, this isn't really an argument. We would expect the language of mathematics to become more standardised, and less ambiguous, over time. In the early days of mathematics we didn't even have standard symbols for any of the arithmetic operators. To begin with, mathematics was the privilege of the educated few, and now days it is a common tool for the common person. With that comes a requirement for intuitive clarity, not knowledge of some standard order of operations (which again, a majority of mobile devices don't even adhere to).

It’s been at least three decades since I last owned a Casio wristwatch, and I’m pretty sure it was this same model. I’ll be rocking this daily now, and the Apple Watch will be for workouts only. My Casio doesn’t track me, distract me, or monetize me. And it won’t need recharging, just a new battery in about 7 years. I have my eye on a couple different Casio models besides this one, too. So, I had cause to do an emergency hot wash yesterday and in the ensuing rush I accidentally included my new #Casio #GShock #GBD300 into the load… An hour and a half later in a 90 degree wash, did it survive? 🫣 Yes of course it did! (Though it recorded 1124 additional steps 😅) I wouldn’t recommend *deliberately* doing this, and I’m not sure if the B2100 with its mechanical parts would have fared as well, but I’m mightily impressed!

A propo zrzucania kg. Dziś wymianiełem baterię w G-Shock i prawie się zesr.. bo mi zegarek zdechł. Okazało się, że po wymianie baterii jeszcze trzeba tam plus z jednym punktem w elektronice zewrzeć :D Matko Boska. No i działa. Ale niestety w międzyczasie zacząłem już szukać następcy i już mam i to nawet 2 upatrzone. Jeden z ładowaniem solarnym który w sumie co lepsze ma też synchro radiowe czasu - a to bym sobie chwalił. Drugi to reedycja pierwszego G-Shocka z zakręcanym dekielkiem i całym stalowym tym modułem w środku :) Ale czytałem opinie, że za to widoczność ekraniku jakaś słaba. A to w jednym, że z boku nie widać a to że w drugim pod kątem. Sam nie wiem co o tym myśleć. Będę w okolicy jakiegoś sklepu to sprawdzę z ciekawości. Przy okazji widziałem że G-Shock wypuścił jakieś dziwne wersje w cenie po kilkanaście tysi. Chyba tytanowe koperty. Dla mnie nawet stalowa ze stalowymi paskami nie pasuje. To dziwnie wygląda. G-Shock ma wyglądać jak na obrazku niżej. Oczywiście nie zamierzam kupować drugiego G-Shocka. Nie zamierzam kupować drugiego... Nie zamierzam... Nie... #zegarki #casio #gshock #dw5600
