This evening's demo for Gaza at Assen railway station. We sang about peace and handed out leaflets and watermelon slices to passers by. Gazans are still under attack by Israel. They also still lack shelter, food and adequate water supplies. In the West Bank, attacks by "settlers" as well as the IDF continue. On the last Thursday of the month we read names of the people who have been killed by the Israelis as part of their continuing genocide of the Palestinian people. A lot of people wait and listen, take information and promise to boycott Israeli goods. Yesterday we read the names and ages of a small number of the victims of Israel's continuing attacks on Gaza. We will sadly never be able to do all of the victims any kind of justice at all. Protesters inside Assen's railway station tonight. It's the last Thursday of the month so we read the names and ages of Gazans who have been murdered by the Israeli state. In an hour we can only read a tiny fraction of the names. The list becomes longer each week. People stop and listen. Names of children and babies provoke more emotion, but all the deaths are tragic. People of all ages are killed for no reason other than that Israel's terrorist regime does not value Palestinian lives. Passers by take information about the calls to boycott products and services from companies associated with Israel.
