Having a few people over for my birthday this weekend. I gave them the options for some games to play, but they overwhelmingly chose to do a Battletech Grinder.
I don’t have the right mix of mechs for that “small” grinder set. So I put together my own small list, taking from the large grinder pdf and favoring ones I had painted. 35 out of 40 are painted.
I just had the Mountain Lake map printed so we’ll use that. Very much looking forward to blasting mechs.

I have this dream of running a Battle for Tukayyid event. As part of it I’d have 10 mechs for each invading clans as a pool for them to deploy from.
First step was taking the ~16 mechs I already have painted Jade Falcon green (some need touch up, I got some partially painted 2nd hand) and making a Clan Invasion era roster from them. How does this look?

How would you play a short 1 hour+ game of classic Battletech? I was thinking a single medium mech of the most explody low armor variants. Like the Vindicator 1AA or Shadow Hawk 2D. (Is there a list of firecracker mechs like these?)
Alternatively, slower Clan mediums, which have lots of firepower but not enough armor to absorb the punishment.

The Zaku project produced some very strong successes, unfortunately, the Zakutank was not one of them. Its weaponry was fine, but was mounted on the tank body instead of on the mech, restricting its usage, and the unit never made it past the early production stage.
