📰 NC NEWS Asheville Unveils Riverfront Redesign 🏞️ After Tropical Storm Helene buried the French Broad River parks under debris and historic floodwaters, Asheville has introduced a unified five‑mile redesign. 🌊 The plan leans into nature‑based resilience, focused on flood‑adapted public spaces, restored wetlands, and improved river access. One welcome design element is the re-establishment of native rivercane to bolster riverbanks. 🧩 The project deploys climate‑aware infrastructure to strengthen habitats, recreation, and long‑term public safety. 🔗 https://www.ashevillenc.gov/news/city-of-asheville-introduces-unified-design-for-french-broad-riverfront-parks-recovery-project/ @NCConnect@fedigroups.social#AVL #Asheville #FrenchBroadRiver #ClimateResilience #UrbanPlanning #Parks #FloodAdaptation #Infrastructure #Environment #EcologicalRestoration
